Wedding nails for your most beautiful day

The bride's hands are the focus of a wedding - they receive special attention because they play the most important role in the ring exchange 💍 and can be seen in many wedding photos afterwards. For this reason, wedding nails should definitely be well cared for, but not distract too much from the ring, advises nail designer Stefanie. Attractive accents complete the picture and trends can also be suitable for wedding nails. The expert explains that it really depends on the bride's individual style and what she feels comfortable with.

Wedding Nails: Unique & Matching

A bride's personal style is an important criterion when choosing the right nails for a wedding - it's not just about that one day, but also about the bride's personality in general. If you prefer a natural look, this line is also a good choice for wedding nails. No bride should be tempted by unusual nail designs, because an unusual design of the nail can otherwise make her feel uncomfortable because it simply doesn't fit, says nail designer Stefanie. Brides who rely on unique nail art in their everyday lives and like to try things out can also be a little more daring when it comes to their wedding nails, explains the expert. She advises: It's better to rely on the tried and tested, because a well-groomed appearance that makes the bride feel comfortable is the be-all and end-all for a stress-free wedding!

Interplay between wedding nails, bridal outfit and color theme of the wedding ceremony

Which nail design is suitable for the wedding depends on the wedding dress and the bridal hairstyle - classic versions are perfectly complemented by elegant wedding nails and are always a good choice. Glitter , bright colors or trendy nail designs , on the other hand, can complete unusual wedding dresses or hairstyles; individual style plays an important role in deciding on the right nail design for the wedding. Many weddings have a specific color theme, which can be found in place cards, room decorations and even the bridal bouquet - the nails can be designed to match and the color theme can be picked up. It is important that the bride thinks about how she wants to appear before choosing the right nails: classic, sophisticated or unusual - the nail design is chosen accordingly and fits into the overall picture of the bride's outfit.

Well-groomed nails for the wedding – do it yourself at home or in the studio?

Brides can create attractive wedding nails themselves at home or have them done in the studio by an experienced nail designer. While it is much cheaper to do your nails at home, the nail designer offers more options and uses her experience to ensure that the nails are flawless at the wedding ceremony. How much you want to invest and what wishes you have for your wedding look play the main role in deciding whether you do the wedding nails yourself at home or go to the nail salon. Other crucial factors are durability, durability and the equipment required for various nail art and nail designs.

Gel, acrylic or would you rather use your own nails for the wedding?

Before the wedding, many brides ask themselves how to properly display their fingernails. Is it time for gel or acrylic nails or is it better to rely on the tried and tested nail polish? While gel and acrylic are ahead in terms of durability and nail art options, traditional nail polish offers an uncomplicated option for wedding nails. Nail polish is also more cost-effective than artificial nails from the studio - if you are experienced, you can even do your wedding nails yourself and save money. However, high-quality artificial nails require various tools and products, so they can only be done at home with experience and appropriate equipment.

Nail design – which variant offers more options?

If you want to use stickers, crystals or nail art at the wedding, you are well advised to go with gel and acrylic , as these are better suited for corresponding nail designs than conventional nail polish . Nail art can be implemented particularly well here. Covers made of gel and acrylic also offer thenail tattoos and glitter accents a good hold. These often form a noticeable bulge under simple nail polish , which customers can find uncomfortable, explains expert Stefanie. The artificial nails with nail art are also characterized by their greater durability because the decorative elements are embedded in the gel and cannot fall off easily. However, plain colored nails or classic manicures such asFrench or nude can be done just as well with nail polish as with gel or acrylic .

Wedding nails: Durable & hard-wearing

On one of the most important days in your life, your nails should appear freshly manicured and well-groomed. Gel and acrylic offer the advantage that they can be applied a few days in advance and still be flawless at the wedding. Simple nail polish has to be applied relatively quickly before the wedding - this can sometimes be difficult given the bride's tight schedule. In general, artificial nails show better durability and durability compared to traditional nail polish. However, nail designer Stefanie advises against applying gel or acrylic only for the day of the wedding and the honeymoon, as applying and promptly removing them puts unnecessary strain on the natural nail. A suitable alternative can be modern shellac with a shelf life of up to two weeks.

Wedding nails: 👰🏻 Personal style decides

In general, most customers prefer classic versions for their wedding nails, but of course, in addition to the wedding dress, the hairstyle and a color theme, it all depends on the customer's individual style. Those who appear more natural should also do this at the wedding, while brides who also like to wear something unusual can also choose sophisticated nail designs at the wedding - the most important thing is that the bride feels comfortable with her nails, explains nail design expert Stefanie. She tells us about a regular customer who always wears the same eye-catching, intense shade of red and didn't want to go without it on her wedding day because it just suits her and her style - so she wore bright red nails with a classic white wedding dress and is true to her look remained. The right wedding nails:
5 questions for nail designer Stefanie

Our experienced nail designer Stefanie explains to you in an interview which wedding nails suit you and how to care for your nails until the wedding ceremony.

ND24: What are your customers' 3 nail design favorites for the wedding ceremony?
Nail designer Stefanie: Most people clearly choose a classic French in medium white and medium-length nails. In second place, nude tones without French are chosen for short, straight or almond-shaped nails. In third place are small accents, such as subtle glitter lines or crystals, which are primarily chosen for the ring finger.

ND24: Which nails don't go well with a classic wedding dress?
Nail designer Stefanie: I advise my customers not to have nails that are too long at the wedding, as well as nails that are too overloaded with lots of nail art. My customers generally don't choose pointed stiletto nails for their wedding ceremony. In terms of color, I personally think black and neon colors are rather inappropriate with a classic wedding dress. I think that on this day the ring should be the focus and the well-groomed fingernail should provide an attractive setting for the piece of jewelry without distracting from the essentials.

ND24: What tips do you recommend for hand and nail care before the wedding?
Nail designer Stefanie: The motto is to start early - of course it's best to take good care of your hands and nails in general, but you should give them increased attention at least two to three weeks before the wedding. For me, hand and nail care primarily includes high-quality creams and oils. I also recommend peelings and masks that remove dead and dry skin and make your hands supple. A professional paraffin bath also ensures particularly soft skin.

ND24: How do I know which wedding nails suit me?
Nail designer Stefanie: Of course, a lot of it depends on your personal style and the look you chose for the wedding. I recommend addressing the topic early enough. You can make an appointment at the nail salon to get advice and try out colors or shapes in advance and wear them for a while - then you'll know better what suits you and what you like.

ND24: The perfect wedding nails - what mistake do many brides make?
Nail designer Stefanie: One of the lesser-known mistakes that can lead to very unsightly results is using self-tanner incorrectly. Before the wedding, this is often used for a beautiful complexion. However, the product should definitely be applied with medical gloves, otherwise it will turn yellow on the nails and edges of the nails and dark spots can form on the skin that cannot be removed by washing and peeling. In the wedding photos with a close-up of the hand and ring, the self-tanner faux pas is a disaster!

Liebe Babette,
dann würden wir etwas schlichtes empfehlen z. B. ein klassisches French oder ganz natürlich mit Camouflage-Tönen. Wir wünschen Dir eine schöne Hochzeit. Liebe Grüße, dein ND24-Team
