“The right length and shape of summer nails depends very much on the customer’s personal style,” says our nail designer Stefanie.
In general, many people like to wear their nails a little longer in summer, and the shape can be chosen in very different ways. However, those who are on vacation are usually braver and may even opt for long stiletto nails that would otherwise not be popular in the office.

Pedicure – which colors and length?
Nail designer Stefanie: The pedicure can be carried out using all nail design methods. Many people like mica , glitter and mother-of-pearl on their toenails. In general, toenails are worn rather short because long toenails can cause pain because they can pinch into shoes or you can hit them when wearing open shoes. Only to complete the overall picture, particularly small nails can be worn longer. However, the nails shouldn't be too short if the skin around them isn't used to it: pressure pain can be the result - you basically run your nails sore. If you go into the water a lot or walk barefoot on the beach or in the garden, you can ensure ultra-long durability with pedicures made of acrylic or gel .
Summer Pedi – what should you pay attention to?
Nail designer Stefanie: Calluses should always be removed carefully and gently - especially if they are uncomfortable or painful. It is better to remove calluses more often and less and to care for your feet well to keep the skin supple. If too much callus is removed at once, it can cause chafing, pain and inflammation. After rigorous removal, the callus also forms again more quickly as a protective measure for the body. It is therefore particularly important for athletes to exfoliate and care for their feet - it is best to apply cream every evening in bed instead of removing large areas of calluses.
Do nails and hands have to be the same colors?
Nail designer Stefanie: This is a personal style question: Some customers wear the same color on their hands and feet and I think that's nicer for myself. I find matching pedicures and manicures particularly elegant, especially for events. In the studio, for example, a French or baby boomer manicure on the fingernails and red color for the feet are often chosen if you want something a little more sophisticated. This is a good idea for the office to add color!
Which nail art also works on toenails?
Nail designer Stefanie: Almost any kind of nail art can be applied to the toenail of the big toe - most other nails are often too small. The nail art should be processed in such a way that it creates a smooth surface with the nail to avoid unpleasant snagging. Hand-drawn nail art , airbrush nail design, stamping, tattoos and flat stickers are my favorites for toenails because they hold best and can be applied without a lot of arching.
