This is how an ultrasonic cleaner works

In contrast to chemical methods, an ultrasonic device cleans through physical processes. In this technique, an ultrasonic vibrator produces sound waves that cause the water (or other liquid) to move. This constant movement creates excess and negative pressure and as a result, very small bubbles develop. These burst and release a comparatively large amount of energy when they detonate in miniature format, and even a hard jet of water is created, like a small high-pressure cleaner. This force essentially “blows away” contamination from instruments and tools – even from the smallest grooves. How big the bubbles are can be regulated by the frequency setting of the device: higher frequencies lead to smaller bubbles. Nail designer Stefanie: You don't need any special training or certificates or anything similar to use an ultrasonic cleaner. If you follow the manufacturer's operating instructions, installation and commissioning will be simple and uncomplicated. In general, these are devices that do not need to be serviced by a technician - you can do the maintenance yourself.

6 steps: How to work with an ultrasonic cleaner?

In addition to nail salons, jewelers and dental technicians, this physical process is also used to sterilize surgical instruments. An ultrasonic cleaner typically consists of several components: a tray for the equipment and liquids, an ultrasonic transducer and a generator. Other practical extras such as timers or digital displays may also be available. Cleaning with an ultrasonic cleaner begins with placing the tools to be cleaned in the tub. The tub is filled with water and a disinfectant or other liquid components according to the manufacturer's instructions as described in the operating instructions and set to the recommended time and frequency using a timer. The device then begins to cause high-frequency vibrations in the tub and its contents, so that even the smallest contaminants can be removed from the joint parts of the instruments. Parts of the tools that are difficult to access and where residues could get caught are reliably cleaned. After the timer time has expired and cleaning has elapsed, the instruments can be removed and dried on a clean, dry surface before being stored hygienically.
