Which nail tool is your insider tip?
Nail designer Stefanie: I think many nail designers underestimate the possible uses of cuticle pliers . It is one of my absolute favorites and is used daily. I use them to clip off the cuticles flawlessly and to remove nail stickers, remove nail art stones from the display or remove gel residue - even under the nail.
What are your three top tools for perfect nail art?
Nail designer Stefanie: For perfect nail art, I rely primarily on the dotting tool - with it I can create fine lines and arches, set dots or position other motifs on the nail. I also appreciate the striper brushes in different lengths and thicknesses, so that I have the right helper at hand for every requirement. Last but not least: Fan brushes are simply indispensable for me to create super smooth color gradients.
What is an edge trimmer and when is it used?
Nail designer Stefanie: The perfect smile line on the acrylic nail is a small work of art that requires some practice. With the help of edge trimmers for French manicure, precisely shaped and even French lines can be created on all nails. The metal plate has different curvatures that can be used as a template for the perfect French line in acrylic nail design and conjure up a clean French tip in no time. How do you use pigment applicators for nail design?
Nail designer Stefanie: With pigment applicators , for example, you can easily create flawless chrome nail designs. These practical helpers look like applicators for eye shadow: a stick to hold with a sponge attached to the end. Different sponge sizes ensure that every nail shape and nail size can be processed effectively. They are ideal for nail art and nail modeling with a wide variety of pigments. I use this nail design tool in the studio to evenly incorporate the fine pigments into the color. Particularly practical: After use, the pigment applicators can be easily rinsed and cleaned under running water.

Fiberglass in nail design: break-resistant & durable
To repair cracks in artificial and natural nails, our nail designer uses microfine fiberglass strips and threads. The fiberglass threads are also suitable for making fiberglass nails, where the fibers replace the template or tip. Modern modeling gels can also contain fiberglass and thus enable a particularly thin application of the modeling layer while at the same time being extremely durable. The durable fiberglass is a composite of plastic and tiny glass fibers. The material is suitable for repairing nails in cracked areas with high elongation at break. Due to the modern material, the areas can react elastically to incoming energies such as shocks and at the same time offer the necessary strength. With the fiberglass threads , experienced nail designers can create particularly break-resistant and very individual nail shapes that are suitable for every nail bed and can also be used on problem nails. “The fiberglass strips are self-adhesive strips that can be easily cut to the desired size. The cut material is incorporated into the still wet gel in the desired area during modeling and then cured together with the UV gel under the UV lamp," explains our nail designer Stefanie.

Pinching nails – what is that?
In order to create the perfect C-curve during nail modeling, the nail is pinched. The C-curve refers to the tunnel-like curve that the nail makes when you look at it from the front. A uniform, high curvature is particularly desirable here. Pinching gives the artificial nail an elegant curve with a beautiful curve and makes it appear narrower, but the durability is also better for a nail with a C-curve than for a flat modeled nail. For professional pinching, the tip of the nail is gently pressed together when drying out, especially acrylic nails, but also during gel modelling, explains our nail designer.
